SAP Research is the technology research department of SAP. It is a worldwide organisation responsible for researching, understanding, and developing new technologies and processes that may affect the future of SAP business applications. SAP AG is a full Advisory Board Member of the European Research Center for Information Systems.
Core competencies of SAP Research include Web Services and Semantics, Business Process Modelling Methods and Execution Platforms as well as Application Development. In previous and ongoing IST IP projects SAP Research has transferred research results and technology to SAP's public sector groups. These public sector groups, their solution architects and thus SAP's existing public sector customers have been closely involved in the preparation of this proposal.
Within this project SAP will contribute with its strong knowledge in System Design and Development and Process Management and drive the design and development of PICTURE. SAP is the consortium leader and manages the project. SAP will also support dissemination and exploitation activities.
