CSI-Piemonte is an ICT consortium founded in 1977 among 54 public stakeholders of the Piemonte Region in Italy. The Regione Piemonte Government, the City of Turin Council and the Province of Turin are the main stakeholders and customers of CSI-Piemonte. It is owned by public organisations but it benefits from the corporate governance and agility of a private firm. CSI-Piemonte is serving most of the public bodies (e.g. Local Public Administrations, Universities, and Hospitals) of the region. This region is one of the largest and more technologically advanced in Italy. CSI-Piemonte is one of the largest Italian ICT companies developing e-government projects, building ICT infrastructure, disseminating on-line value added services connecting local PA's and private SME companies. CSI-Piemonte supports the local industrial development by generating business for approximately 300 ICT SME's.
CSI-Piemonte is involved in several international projects (FP 6 IST: HOPS - Hub for the deployment of advanced mass-scale On-line Public Services, EU PHARE: Twinning Hungary Environmental sector and Twinning Slovak Republic Water treatment, ICT Training and Incubation Centre for International Cooperation). CSI-Piemonte is acting since its birth in designing and managing back-end information systems in areas such as territory management, demography, taxation, and financial and patrimony accounting systems. In addition, CSI-Piemonte has an extensive involvement in congress events and activities, including the organisation of multidisciplinary international conferences and dissemination activities at regional and national level. CSI-Piemonte established strong links to regional, national and international public administration authorities and to a vast number of ICT SME's.
Within this project, CSI-Piemonte will lead the Dissemination and Exploitation (WP7).
CSI-Piemonte will contribute with its strong knowledge and standing in the area of dissemination and exploitation of innovative technology and services in the public sector.
CSI-Piemonte acts in the role of a prospector and will involve public administration bodies.
CSI-Piemonte will publish PICTURE's findings and will ensure that project outcomes can be transferred to the broadest audience, mainly through the European local Government.
CSI-Piemonte will coordinate the involvement of the City of Turin. The City of Turin is in the immediate neighbourhood of CSI-Piemonte.
